The Federal Government has directed that the National Flag should be at half mast starting from today to honour Chief of Army Staff LT. General Ibrahim Attahiru and 10 others who died in a military plane crash on Friday, May 21.

Recalled that military aircraft crashed on Friday near Kaduna International Airport killing all the military officers and the crew onboard.

The departed souls were on a national assignment when the plane crashed.

The military officers were buried amidst wailing and uncontrollable tears on Saturday at the National Mosque and National Christian Centre in the federal capital territory Abuja, respectively.

The remains were later buried at the military cemetery in Abuja.

Already, the Chief of Defence Staff had ordered an investigation into the cause of the military plane crash.
